At Semilong Services, we believe in giving back to our community, and there’s no better way to show our support than by championing local sports. We’re proud to announce our sponsorship of the Northamptonshire Police Football Club for the 2025–26 and 2026–27 seasons.
Our journey to this partnership began through Deborah Wileman at Sportingley, an organisation dedicated to finding sponsorship for unique and often underrepresented sports teams and events. Sportingley focuses on clubs that serve the community in vital ways—emergency services (Police, Fire, Ambulance), military units, universities, and disability teams. These groups may be small, but they each offer something truly special to the communities they represent and to the brands that support them.
Corina Edghill of the Northamptonshire Police Football Club shared her excitement:
“Northants Police are very excited to be playing in their brand new home kit, kindly sponsored by Semilong Services.”
The club fields a men’s team, a women’s team, and an over-35s team, all competing in the Emergency Services Football League (ESFL), facing teams from across the Police, Fire, Ambulance, Military and Prison Services. They also participate in the Police Service UK (PSUK) Cup, a prestigious competition that brings together police forces from across the nation.
Each of these squads is made up entirely of serving police officers, and home matches are typically played at Wellingborough Town FC or Northampton University. These matches offer more than just competitive football; they’re fantastic community events. We encourage businesses, families, and football fans alike to come along, support the team, and enjoy what can also be a valuable networking opportunity with members of the emergency services.
To celebrate the partnership, we sent our in-house photographer, Leila Coker, to meet the women’s team in May and capture some dynamic shots of the squad in action, proudly wearing their new Semilong-branded kits.
We’re thrilled to be part of the journey for such a dedicated and inspiring group of individuals. Supporting our emergency services, on and off the field, is something we take great pride in, and we look forward to many more goals, games, and memories together.
Let us know if you’d like to get involved or attend a match, we’d love to see more of our community getting behind the team!
